About Aluma

Aluma is an ethics-centered ecosystem focused on reflective practice, professional judgment, and responsible engagement with AI in human-centered fields.

It was created in response to the growing speed, automation, and complexity shaping modern systems — particularly in spaces where decisions affect real people, real lives, and long-term outcomes.

Aluma exists to support clarity over convenience, reflection over reaction, and human responsibility over technological authority.

Our Mission

Aluma's mission is to support ethical clarity and reflective judgment in AI-integrated environments by helping individuals and organizations slow down, ask better questions, and build systems that reduce harm rather than accelerate it.

Meet the Founder

Ashleigh Gardner-Cormier, LMSW - Founder of Aluma

Aluma was founded by Ashleigh Gardner-Cormier, LMSW, a social worker, writer, and ethics-focused practitioner with nearly two decades of experience across mental health, healthcare, legal, and hospice settings.

Her work centers on the intersection of ethics, systems, and emerging technologies — with a particular focus on how AI reshapes professional judgment, responsibility, and care.

Aluma emerged from both professional practice and lived experience, shaped by a commitment to ethical sufficiency, boundary protection, and human-centered systems.

Our Guiding Principles

Human Judgment Comes First

AI may assist, but responsibility and decision-making always remain human.

Ethics Are Structural

Ethical practice is not an afterthought or disclaimer — it must be embedded into systems, workflows, and governance.

Reflection Is a Safeguard

Pause, inquiry, and reflection are protective practices, not inefficiencies.

Clarity Over Speed

Faster is not always better. Thoughtful systems prioritize understanding over acceleration.

Boundaries Matter

Clear limits protect professionals, institutions, and the people they serve.
